The Southern School for Moms offers three prenatal classes for moms-to-be, as well as postpartum Mommy and Me classes broken down by age.
The Birthing 101 class covers topics such as the stages of labor, pain management options, breathing techniques, and the importance of creating a birth plan. These classes meet in person, so you and your partner can meet other people walking the same path. It's a great way to meet new friends!
Baby Care 101 covers topics such as bringing your baby home, swaddling, diapering, bathing, feeding, sleeping, and car seat safety. It is also an in person class, so you with be with other new parents.
Baby Safety 101 is not just for new parents. It is perfect for grandparents, babysitters, and anyone interested in learning the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, choking interventions, baby-proofing your house, and other preventative safety practices to follow with an infant or toddler. While you will not receive a CPR certification card at the end, the class covers how to perform CPR on babies and toddlers.
