"How long will the photoshoot take?"
A typical milestone session lasts about 1 to 2 hours, but we always follow your child's lead. If your little one needs extra time to warm up, we'll take it. If they're having the best day ever and want to keep going, we can do that too.
With newborns, I plan for plenty of time. Babies need to eat, sleep, and be soothed. We work around their natural rhythm, not against it. I allow up to four hours for newborn sessions so that we have plenty of time to keep baby happy.
For toddlers, some days they're ready to shine right away. Other days they need a few minutes to get comfortable with me. Both are perfectly normal and wonderful.
"Can I bring family members or pets?"
Yes! I love including the whole family in your session. Big brothers and sisters make photos so much more joyful. And pets? They're family too!
Grandparents often add such sweetness to family photos. There's something so precious about watching grandma hold her new grandbaby or seeing grandpa make silly faces to get giggles.
We'll make sure everyone feels comfortable and included. Sometimes the best shots happen when the whole family is just being themselves together.
"What should I do if my child isn't cooperating?"
Don't stress about this for even a second. Children have their own rhythm, and I've learned to work with it, not against it.
If your little one is having a tough day, we'll take breaks. We'll play. We'll let them explore. Sometimes I'll put my camera down and just spend time getting to know them.
I've photographed enough children to know that cooperation looks different for everyone. Some kids love the camera right away. Others need time to trust me. Both types give us beautiful, authentic photos.
"Do I need to bring props or do you provide them?"
I provide lots of beautiful props, blankets, and backdrops for our session. But I also love when families bring something special from home.
That heirloom blanket from grandma. The tiny shoes you bought before baby was born. The stuffed animal that's been waiting for their arrival. These personal touches make your photos even more meaningful.
Feel free to bring anything that tells your family's story. These details add so much heart to your memories.
